The Maritime Mobile Stations PSK Award Series (MMPA) was devised by the European PSK Club on 26th May 2007. This was designed to encourage contacts with maritime mobile stations from various ITU Zones on PSK modes. MMPA-10, MMPA-20, MMPA-30 and MMPA-40 awards may be claimed by any licensed radio amateur, club station or SWL eligible under the EPC Awards General Rules who can produce evidence of having contacted maritime mobile stations from 10, 20, 30 and 40 different ITU zones respectively at the time of application by using any PSK mode. EPC membership is required for the MMPA Award applicants. All contacts must be made since January 1, 2000.
Confirmations from the maritime mobile EPC Short Wave Listeners and Digital Monitoring Stations are accepted as confirmed contacts. All stations contacted must be maritime mobile stations. Contacts with land based, internal waters, airborne aircraft, cannot be counted.
Maritime mobile stations are mobile stations installed in a watercraft, usually an ocean-going vessel. When in international waters, these stations are operated under the regulatory authority of the flag under which the vessel is registered. In addition to the regulatory requirements of amateur radio, operation of maritime mobile stations also requires the permission of the captain of the vessel. Maritime mobile stations append a .../mm to end of their call sign.
You have to provide a valid QRA locator and ITU zone for each QSO, only QSOs with GRID locator and ITU zone are valid.
